His expert opinions span a broad range of commercial real estate finance matters, including bankruptcy interest rate determination and plan feasibility, capital structure, standards and practices of real estate lending, lending policy and loan approval issues, intercreditor disputes, partnership disputes, alter-ego issues, and related matters of corporate structure. His expertise stems from over 45 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry, during which he has been personally involved in the placement of over $12 billion in financing for developer and investor clients. He is the founder of Tenzer Consulting Group and Co-Founding Principal and Managing Director of George Smith Partners, Inc., a Los Angeles-based real estate investment banking and advisory firm that specializes in the nationwide placement of commercial real estate debt, equity, and structured financing. He earned a BA in Economics from UC Berkeley and an MBA and MS in Business Administration from University of Southern California.
